Synesthetic Images

The synesthetic images could be explain as when the poet combines different sense(tactile, visual, auditory, taste and smell) in one image. The synaesthesia perform two major functions in Keats's poems: it produces a sensual effect, by combining different images and combination of senses are used to reproduce one important image, which the poet wants to highlight.
  • And TASTE the MUSIC of that VISION pale. (stanza XLIX)
In this quotation John Keats uses a synthetic image as he combines taste, hearing and sight to share his feelings.
